#34 – Wish
Every truck stop had its share of prostitutes, and Mickey knew a lot of them either from telling them to fuck off, or taking them up on their offers. But there was one truck stop that he never missed an opportunity at.
He wasn’t Ian. Not even close, no matter what Mickey might wish. But his hair was almost the right shade of red and his build was similar to Ian’s. Every time Mickey stopped here, the kid came right to his truck. He never questioned the name that fell from Mickey’s lips when he came, and Mickey never offered.
